Characteristics of dynamic softening during high temperature deformation of CoCrFeMnNi high-entropy alloy and its correlation with the evolving microstructure and micro-texture

The characteristics of dynamic recrystallization (DRX) a CoCrFeMnNi high–entropy alloy (HEA) was investigated via hot compression testing in the temperature range 950–1100 °C and at true strain rates 10?2 10?1 s?1. discontinuous DRX found to be dominant mechanism corroborating microstructural evolution. progress initiation terms critical strain/stress required using Poliak–Jonas analytical criterion. Consequently, new kinetic model based on Avrami–type function established for HEA predict fractional recrystallization. It revealed that volume fraction grains increased with increasing strain. In case s?1, steady–state flow achieved after completion one process cycle resulting further straining, leading occurrence restoration processes involving formation substructures generation annihilation dislocations inside which effectively partially deformed (substructured) grains. A good agreement between proposed kinetics microstructure observation results validated accuracy HEA. preferred orientation non–recrystallized towards <101> fiber texture, whereas random micro–texture is recrystallized
